Purpose of the Role

The IT Business Analyst role will be to bridge the gap between Tasiast business needs and technology solutions. The primary objective is to analyze business processes, identify areas for improvement, recommend technological solutions that align with the organization's objectives, and support Business Application Systems implemented at Tasiast, with focus on JDE support, ServiceNow and Power BI.

Only applications from Mauritanian citizens that hold appropriate working rights will be considered.

Key Areas of Responsibilities and Duties

  • Application owner and technical lead for any Business Application being used on site.
  • Coordinates change requests and software support requirements.
  • Provide production level 2 and level 3 support for JDE and K2 
  • Participate and advise in formulating plans for improvements to systems and infrastructure.
  • Actively seeks mentorship and learning to improve Business Applications
  • Maintain Business Process maps and system documentation around the processes and configuration for ERP and other related business systems.
  • Develops functional design specifications, tests, and implements new applications and system enhancements, ensuring the integrity of set-ups and configurations.
  • Optimizes existing applications and identifies opportunities to improve the efficiency of business processes.
  • Works with the corporate IT group to ensure the sites adhere to corporate policy and governance requirements.
  • Analyses data in the databases and identifies data integrity issues; implements solutions to maximize data quality and compatibility with existing systems.
  • Assist in developing training plans, end-user documentation and trains new and existing users.
  • Apply analytical skills to change requests. Act on these business needs, identifying solutions to quickly resolve issues related to business applications.
  • Plan, project manage and execute the implementation of changes with minimal disruption to operations.
  • Overseeing overall functionality, maintenance, and improvements of business applications.
  • Managing change requests, software support requirements, and ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Providing support for business applications, addressing issues, and ensuring operational continuity.
  • Participating in planning improvements to systems, infrastructure, and advising on enhancements.
  • Actively seeking mentorship and learning opportunities to enhance business applications.
  • Maintaining process maps, system documentation, and ensuring integrity of setups/configurations.
  • Developing, testing, and implementing new applications/enhancements, optimizing existing applications.
  • Applying analytical skills to resolve issues related to business applications, managing changes efficiently.
  • Developing, maintaining, and distributing automated reports to the organization.
  • Understanding source data, its use, storage methods, and aligning data to business needs.
  • Updating ETL based on changes to source applications or reporting requirements.
  • Verifying reports for accuracy, troubleshooting issues, and implementing corrections.
  • Communicating with internal partners about reporting projects, providing regular updates.
  • Providing ad hoc reports, performing data analysis, and documenting processes, best practices.
  • Supervising all business applications, providing specific application support.

Qualifications and Skills Requirements

Qualifications 
Mandatory skills and requirements for this position:

  • A bachelor’s degree in one of the following areas: Computer Science / Information Technology, Business Administration, Library Science or a technology-related field is required.
  • At least one year of related work experience, supporting or implementing and converting manual or semi-automated processes to an Enterprise Resource Planning application.
  • Fluency in English, French and Arabic
  • Excellent Customer Service and Interpersonal skills with proven ability to work with senior management and staff.
  • Strong management and leadership skills: people, process, and technology
  • Time Management and Project Management Skills
  • Good problem-solving abilities.

Skills Requirements

  • Proven experience in maintenance of an ERP-based solution (ideally, JD Edwards)
  • Knowledge of Reports-Now (DAS) or other third-party reporting tools an asset
  • Proven experience in maintenance of SharePoint
  • Exposure to software delivery implementations
